I discovered osteopathy when my own back 'went' during my second pregnancy and my Brighton GP recommended that I see the osteopath that worked in the surgery there. Like many people I had never heard of osteopathy and had no idea what to expect. Having barely managed to crawl painfully into the clinic, I walked out upright and continued to have osteopathic treatment intermittently throughout my pregnancy to great success. I began my own training a year later.

Osteopathic degrees start with a rigorous education in anatomy and physiology before students begin to work with patients in clinic. Junior students shadow seniors under the supervision of qualified osteopaths while they complete the remainder of their academic studies. This system means that all newly qualified osteopaths have already had a lot of hands on experience even before they set out in their careers.

Since qualifying in 2006, I have worked with a broad spectrum of patients and problems; I have worked with the elderly and more vulnerable in sheltered housing projects in Brighton as well as working with sportsmen and women aiming to train through injuries and achieve their potential.

My osteopathic training provided me with a solid foundation upon which I have continued to build. My  postgraduate studies have primarily focused on modern neuromuscular rehabilitation techniques and pain science, helping patients not only to get well but hopefully stay that way too.

I returned to my hometown of Dorchester in 2009 and initially worked in Corfe Castle with Marcus Davis at The Purbeck Practice since then I have worked both from home here in Dorchester and at Formotion Clinic in Weymouth where I have the pleasure of working with a fantastic multidisciplinary team. ***Please note I currently work exclusively in Weymouth. ***
